Description
Amsterdam Amateur Ballet (AAB) Studio Company is a place for adult ballet students to perform regularly (minimum twice a year).
The group will learn pieces (length depending on number of participants) geared more towards a younger audience. Depending on the term of the year, we will learn répertoire from ballet (maybe even a full-length ballet) or have a piece created on us (new work).
However, we limit the group to students with an advanced beginner and higher level. (Which is around of 2 years of regular practice)
We also welcome retired professional dancers who are interested in performing in a friendly environment.
The schedule is set on 2 to 3h of weekly rehearsals (most weeks 2h, 3h on runthrough and general rehearsal days), this of course includes a 30min warm up.
Weekly rehearsals are mostly on Saturday afternoon with an exceptional Sunday here and there. Our 2h rehearsals are held from 16h to 18h and the occasional 3h rehearsals are held from 16 to 19h.

Spring term 2026: Répertoire work, The Fairy Doll, répertoire work, season starts January 10th 2026 and ends on june 7th 2026), 20 rehearsals + performance day.
Summer term 2026: AAB Studio Company is having a 4 days workshop to create a whole new production of The Fire bird (Stravinski music). The workshop will be held in Amsterdam August 8 to 11th 2026 (in the afternoon only 13.30-17.30) (sign up in the workshop tab)
Winter term 2026: Répertoire work, The Nutcracker, season starts at the end of August 2026 and ends around mid December. 19 rehearsals + 2 performances (same day)

The Fairy Doll : AAB spring performance
Season will be held January 10th to June 7th. (20 rehearsals and 1 show (sunday june 7th)
Fee : 315€ (+ eventual costume, around 85€) , optional pointe class: 90€ (paid after teacher approval, in addition pointe participants will also have to get another separate costume)
Rehearsals are 2h long, 10min break and an extra 35 min is reserved for the optional pointe class. Dates are as follow.
- Saturday January 10th, 24th, 31st at 16.00-18.45
- Saturday February 7th 16-18.45
- Sunday February 8th 14-16.45
- Saturday February 14th, 21st, 28th 16.00-18.45
- Saturday March 7th, 14th, 28th 16-18.45
- Saturday April 11th, 18th, 25th 16-18.45
- Saturday May 2nd, 9th, 16-18.45
- Saturday May 23rd 16-18.45
- Saturday May 30th: general rehearsal 16-18.45 (for every one)
- Saturday June 6th 16-18.00 (last run through)
- Sunday June 7th show time!
