Julie Dupas

Julie danced jazz most of her childhood and only started ballet in her early twenties. Julie is very passionate about ballet and even studied ballet for 4 years at the Brest Conservatory of Arts. She quickly realized the lack of opportunities for adults to progress, to be taken seriously, but also to perform. That’s how she went on to create opportunities for herself but also others that share the same passion. Julie is the founder of the Amsterdam Amateur Ballet (it actually started with AAB studio company). She also founded the Morlaix Ballet Camp (for adults).

Julie is a former scientist. She even owns a PhD. in Biology and used to work as a Biology teacher for 5 years. She then moved the Netherlands to study Pilates. Currently, Julie is a Pilates teacher (mat and reformer) in Amsterdam. Julie is also a certified holistic masseuse.

From her ballet passion, Julie had some professional experience as a dancer and choreographer (works include the little christmas tree (2022), Covido-motion(2021). She also choreograhed Amsterdam Amateur ballet winter 2023 production “The princess who never laughed” , AAB spring 2024 production “Lilac fairy and her friends”, AAB spring 2025 production “The Magic Flute”, AAB winter 2025 production “My first Swan Lake”, and choreographed part of AAB winter 2025 production “My first Nutcracker”. Julie is also a 4Pointe Level 1 Certified Teacher.
